Aluminium Wire Rod (EC Grade)

EC grade Aluminium Wire Rod is available in sizes 7.60mm, 9.50mm or 12.00mm diameter having Electrical conductivity of minimum 61% IACS, tensile Strength between 8.50 to 13.60 Kg/Sq mm and elongation of 10 to 14%. It is used for manufacturing of All Aluminium Conductors, Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced, LT & HT cables and Transformer Wires & Strips. At present Aluminium Conductor are used in up to 800 KV Transmission line and in HT Aluminium cables of up to 400 KV Power Transmission Line.

Aluminium Alloy Wire Rod

Aluminium Alloy (Al -Si -Mg) wire rod is available in 6101 & 6201 Grade and Mechanical Alloy wire rod in 6061 & 6063 grade. It is available in sizes 7.60 mm, 9.50 mm or 12.00 mm diameter with online solution treated in T4 and T6 temper. It is having a minimum 51.00 % IACS conductivity, Tensile Strength of about 14 kg/Sqmm and minimum elongation of 12%. High conductivity Alloy conductor Al -59 & Al -57 are also manufactured from 6000 series Alloy wire rod. Alloy wire Rod is normally used in various specifications of All Aluminium Alloy conductors and in AB Cable(as messenger). AAAC Conductors are extensively used for Power Transmission in seacoast area because of its non-corrosive quality. The Alloy conductors have also replaced ACSR conductors for its anti-theft property.

Aluminium Flipped Wire Rod

Flip Wire Rods are commercial Grade Aluminium wire rods available in sizes 9.50 mm, 12mm or 13mm diameter. It has 99.20% Aluminium purity, tensile strength 13.50 Kg/mm2, conductivity of 55% IACS and elongation of 12%. It is usually packed in vertical or Horizontal coil form having weight range between 1200 kg to 2000kg Per coil. The Flip Coils are normally manufactured with ID 600 mm and OD 1300 mm. It is usually packed in Steel Cage and mounted on mild steel pallet with six nos Steel strapping in order to avoid collapsing of outer layer. The Copper tubes are crimped on both ends of the flip Coil to facilitate joining of coils with uninterrupted feeding in Wire Feeding Machine at steel plants. It is used in steel plants as a deoxidizer in steel making. It is also used as alloying elements and grain prefiner. Its ability to scavenge nitrogen and promote the formation of “pancake” Ferrite grains led to improvement in the drawing quality of steel, which is especially used in Automobile Industry.
